Now based on palawa country, after living in Queensland, the Top End and Kimberley. Mel can turn her hand to the challenge at hand – whether it’s practical fieldwork, training and mentoring, community-based planning, or supporting First Nations to negotiate joint management agreements. Mel enjoys working alongside rangers, whether to develop partnerships for mutual benefit, or to identify and overcome systems-level obstacles to exercising custodial responsibilities and having skills and knowledge recognised.
