Based in Swanwick on Tasmania’s east coast, on palawa Country, Mel has worked across Australia supporting Aboriginal ranger groups, negotiating joint management agreements, and planning for conservation reserves. Her experience spans fieldwork, community capacity building and developing partnerships between Traditional Owners and government.
